What Makes Us Uptown Tap & Cigar

Uptown Tap & Cigar was born from a simple but powerful idea: a neighborhood deserves more than just a bar—it deserves a true gathering place.

That vision grew out of a local workout group called F3. Beyond pushing each other through early morning workouts, the group gathered regularly at a favorite taphouse—our unofficial “HQ.” It was the place where friendships deepened, ideas sparked, and community was built. When that taphouse closed its doors, our HQ was suddenly gone.

Rather than lose that sense of connection, the group set out to create something new: a better HQ. One with a spectacular view, an elevated beverage program, and a space designed not just for F3, but for the whole island community.

Perched above the marsh on St. Simons Island, Uptown Tap & Cigar blends the spirit of an English-style pub with the laid-back charm of coastal Georgia. From the start, it wasn’t about being the biggest or the trendiest—it was about being genuine. That’s why we built Uptown around 22 rotating taps, a curated whiskey list, fine wines, and a cigar humidor filled with premium sticks (enjoyed outdoors, of course). Light bites and flatbreads round out the menu—not to distract from the drinks and conversations, but to enhance them.

What began as a replacement HQ for a group of friends quickly grew into something much larger: a hub where locals unwind after work, travelers stumble upon a hidden gem, and new friendships are formed over shared pints and late-night conversations.

At its heart, Uptown was built on the belief that hospitality is about more than service—it’s about belonging. That’s why every guest is welcomed like an old friend, whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth.
