Uptown started with a simple idea: when people get together over a beer or a good cigar, the talk gets better. You catch up on life, you find out what's going on, you laugh. The best evenings are the ones where the group gets a little bigger than it started. So when Greg and Scott set out to build this place, they built it for that.
The bar anchors the room, and nobody's far away. The seating is comfortable enough that you'll stay for the second round. There's a game on the TVs, and you're welcome to cheer for your team, or against somebody else's, as long as it's fun. There's a popcorn machine, because people like to nibble and sip, and it's a good excuse to say hello to the person next to you.
Our resident Cicerone, Nate, makes sure that our 22 rotating taps are expertly managed and deliver craft beer from across the country and the world that you won't find elsewhere on St. Simons. But not everyone is a beer person, and everyone is welcome, so there's wine, spirits and cocktails too. Food to share, made to go in the middle of the table. Three humidors, with cigars to smoke on the deck, out over the marsh while the light goes gold. Add live music, a calendar full of events, and room to bring the whole group for a birthday.
Since we opened in November 2024, regulars have turned into friends, friends have brought friends, and a lot of people have told us they're glad it's here. That's the nicest thing about the job.
